WHEW !!!!!!

How we celebrate an
Iron Bowl Victory

We were so relieved and giddy

That we all started
STANDING ON OUR HEAD

Turning flips

And ....finally
Brady
decided to see
if he could still do it

AND....just like
ALABAMA
he could do it when he had to do it

I love you, Uncle Dosh

Dave, Courtney and Lawson
had to tell Josh goodbye this morning.

They were heading down to Lake Martin
to spend the weekend with
Grandmother and Grandfather.

Not "MY" Grandson!

TIME OUT

Yep...that's my sweet baby boy in
"Time Out"

He takes "Time Out"
very seriously

But....the rest of the family
has to cover their mouth and go
into another room!

Enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
Give thanks to him and praise his name

Our H3 memory verse for November has had me singing all month.
It immediately made me think of this song that we sing at church.
Do you know this song?
It is a fun song to sing!

Our Wednesday night Ladies class at church
has been studying the book of Luke.

About two weeks ago we were discussing
Luke 19
We spent a lot of time on the verses 37-40

In these verses the disciples are praising God in loud voices
Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke them
Jesus said
"I tell you"
"If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out"

Our H3 verse came to my mind

Our Ladies Class teacher, we call her our "Beth Moore",
was saying how some of us have always
been "quiet" as Christians.
She suggested that we need to let our Praises to him be heard
and our Thanksgiving known.

I agree, but I will have to work on it!

SWIM TIDE SWIM

LSU Weekend wasn't just Football
John Brady loves to swim. He came very close to
diving this summer at our pool. I think it is important to encourage children
in everything they are interested in. You never know when it could be
their calling in life or the thing they look forward to doing on the weekend.
The Alabama Swimming and Diving Team was having a meet last Friday.
They were competing against LSU.
So......we had a MeMe and John Brady afternoon.
John Brady really loved the high dive.
It was pretty amazing.
John Brady sat mesmerized for about an hour.
I thought that was pretty good for a 4 year old.
We had to walk a long way to our car.
All the parking lots were closed for RV's.
We stopped for a rest and JB3
spotted the Blimp above him.
His head stayed turned up to the sky for the rest of the walk.
As we were walking back to our car JB3 heard
the band practicing.
So....off we went to watch them practice.
JB3 loves music. I told him that he should learn to play the drums and
be in the Alabama Drum Line.

We ended our afternoon by going to
the Ferg and eating supper.
JB3 felt like he was a big little man around those college kids.
He really loved having his choice of lots of different food.
JB3 got pizza and I got Chick Fil-A.
JB3 ate mine and I ate his!
IT was a fun ALABAMA afternoon!

Grandparents Day

Northport Elementary School 2009 John and I along with Donnie and Dianne ate lunch, Friday, with
Abby Claire. It was extra special since Dianne was able to be there.

We met Abby's 2nd grade teacher, ate lunch in the lunch room, went to the Book Fair and got a really cute gift handmade by Abby.

Thank you for inviting us

Hide His Words in Your Heart

H3
November 5th

I am thankful for the seasons

I have a favorite season

and this is it

But....

wouldn't life be dull

if it was always FallI bought this tree when Brady was in the 4th grade.

4-H was selling them

It was 15 inches high

basically a twig

What beauty it has given us for

most of its

22 years

invited me to join a bible verse memory group

November is the 2nd month of this new group

The verse for this month
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name"
Psalms 100:4

KTB also challenged us to write down one thing we were thankful for every day this month
What a great month to count our blessings

November 1 - I am thankful for my husband-John Brady-my high school sweetheart. We beat the odds.......37 years and we still love each other. He takes care of me, solves my problems, indulges my whims, makes me feel like the most important person around and he is my favorite person to just be quiet with.

November 2 - I am thankful for my children

Brady - He shares my sense of humor and loves to tell a story. He always has taken care of his brother and sister....solid and strong. I was young when Brady was born and we grew up together.

Courtney - I tried to raise Courtney to be a confident woman. She has always had a strong sense of right and wrong. Boy, did your Daddy want you to be a girl!

Josh - As Brady and Courtney love to look at each other and say....he's the baby you know! Josh has always known what he wanted out of life and gone after it. Your compassion shines

Kim - You love my son.....that's enough said but I won't stop...you are a great mother to my grandchildren.

David - You make Courtney so happy....again enough said but......what a great Daddy you are to Lawson

November 3 - I am thankful for my Grandchildren. Just writing that makes my eyes tear up. What an incredible love......Grandchildren....they are perfect in my eyes. Do I know that they aren't perfect...yes....but perfection is what I see when I look at them. An overwhelming love!
Emma.....Abby.....John Brady III.....Lawson.....I love you

November 4 - I am thankful for my friends. I can't imagine life without friends. I won't name them here. I am glad there are enough that I would be scared I might leave someone off. I will mention Cathy...my dear soulmate friend...how I miss you....but I am so thankful for every memory.

On The Road Again......

We headed out to San Antonio on a very rainy day

I doubt anybody from Alabama is surprised about that

Big Bridges are always a part of getting to Josh

We finally made it to our hotel in 13 hours

mostly through bad weather

We were ready for some supper

We went to the Market Square

and ate some great

southwestern food

We went to the team hotel after we ate

Josh met us downstairs at 10:00

The team stopped and practiced at Texas Tech

and got to their hotel around 7

Josh had coaches meetings while we were eating supper

Boy, it always feels so good

to put my arms around Josh

Saturday morning we went to the River Walk

It is great

If you have never been

you need to go

We were surrounded by Washington State

and Notre Dame football fans

They were playing in San Antonio that day

We ate at the Mad Dog Pub

We asked to be seated where we could watch the

Auburn game

The TV on the right is Auburn

How funny to be watching an

Alabama team

surrounded by Texas, Washington State

and Notre Dame people

and we had on ASU clothes

I love it

Football trips are so much fun

And on a side note

Great job Auburn

Here's a funny

Saturday night after the game

We went back to the River Walk to eat supper

We sat where a TV was available to see the games

Tennessee was on when we sat down

The waiter changed the TV back to the Texas game

As we were watching and eating

A guy came by dressed like "Jason"

It was Halloween night

He stopped to watch a Texas play

Texas was winning

He assumed that we were Texas fans....I guess

We had on Southern Arkansas colors but nothing that said anything about football

After the good play that Texas made

he turned to us and tipped his hat down

On the rim it was showing 4 Texas Championships

He pointed this out to John

John didn't skip a beat

as he said

Where we are from

we have

12

They won't fit on a hat rim

The guy had been walking off as he tipped his hat to show the

Championships on his rim

After John said what he did

The guy stopped for a minute

You could tell he was thinking

Then with great sportsmanship

He tipped his hat to us

Of course, Texas went ahead of us in the polls

I am glad

I think we do better when we aren't ranked

#1

Now we have to fight back

Let's hope we do!
River Walk during the day
River Walk at night

The weather was great the whole time we were in Texas

Here is another funny......or not so funny

About two hours into our trip

We realized that we

had forgotten the

GPS

You know how you say

I wonder what we did without ______

Well, we found out

what we did without a

GPS

It wasn't pretty

We were fine until

we got into downtown

San Antonio

If we had seen a

Wal Mart

I would have just bought one!

We will never forget

the

GPS

again!

The Game

Southern Arkansas University
VS
University of Incarnate Word
San Antonio, Texas

John and Josh

They always start right in discussing the game

SAU WON
YEA

I just had to get a picture of this huge old tree on
the campus of IWU
I could not even begin to get the whole tree
I think we should treasure old trees!
