Because it takes FOREVER

It takes days to load pictures onto my blog.

So.....

I thought I would give you a little preview of my next blog post

because it may take a week to upload the pictures!

I finally got to put my arms around him!

Josh came home for a visit last week.

I was so glad to finally get to hug him.

Southern Arkansas had their Spring Game the week before

so he had a few days off.

We got to meet his sweet and very pretty friend, Meredith.

Uncle Josh came to Brady and Kim's house Tuesday.

He went with JB3 to karate

and we all ate supper together.

I didn't get any pictures.

Life is hectic on Tuesdays with Abby's guitar lessons

and JB3's karate.

Josh and Meredith came to Dave and Courtney's home Friday.

Uncle Josh got there before Meredith got off work.

Uncle Josh and Lawson had the house shaking with all the

running and laughing going on.

He was one tired little boy that night.

Can't wait till we get to see you again.

We love you, Josh!

Super Moon

My attempt at photographing the moon

at the closest it will be to the earth

in the rest of "MY" lifetime.

My friends know how much I love things

up in the "wild blue yonder".

The Wildhorse Saloon

About two years ago I, along with several of my girlfriends,

took line dancing classes. I loved it. Once I catch on I don't

look totally ridiculous!

Bevill State started giving line dancing classes

several months ago. Most of our original line dancing

class members have been taking but I

was not able to work out my schedule to attend.

My friends, taking the class, had got us all excited again about

line dancing and we began talking about

going to Nashville to enjoy our new interest.

We finally made this happen during

spring break.

We spent a weekend in Nashville and

line danced all night at

The Wildhorse Saloon.

We were a table full of Diet Coke sloshed

ladies having a good time.

Of course, having 5 gorgeous late teen and early 20's

young women with us got us a lot of attention!

I can't wait to go back!

These horses are on the ceiling!

We went and checked out The Wildhorse Saloon in the daytime to check on what time they give their line dancing classes.

Nashville

I went to Nashville, with some girlfriends, during spring break.
We ate at The Spaghetti Factory.
Down the block from The Wildhorse Saloon.
(That's a hint about my next post)

Enjoy the pictures of a few of the stained glass windows.

Memory

Driving to Tuscaloosa yesterday I was listening to
The Gail King Show
on my Sirius radio.
The topic was losing your memory as you get older!
It made a lot of sense. The older we get the fuller our brain is.
The guest compared it to a full computer disc.....
if nothing is physically wrong....
you can remember what you need to remember..it just takes longer to come up!
ANYWAY......
it made this come to my mind....

MY FIRST PHONE NUMBER

ST8 3549

It was a "party line"
that was back in the early 19 ...... Oh, ummm ....I can't seem to remember!

Heavenly Sunlight

Walking in sunlight
all of my journey;
Over the mountains,
through the deep vale;
Jesus has said,
"I'll never forsake thee,"
Promise Divine that never can fail.

Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight,
Flooding my soul with glory divine:
Hallelujah, I am rejoicing,
Singing his praises,
Jesus is mine.

John and I spent part of this last Saturday
walking in the woods.
We love the woods.
The peace and quiet and the beauty.
As we were walking...soaking up the sunshine....
I kept humming this song.
It seemed appropriate and when I think of this song
I am in a church pew with John and my three children
beside me.
It makes me smile!

Do you see the turkey track and the coon track?

Even a tiny water spill makes the most glorious sound!

Look closely and you will see signs of spring breaking through the ground

You Are My Sunshine

The Kindergarten classes at
Northport Elementary School
performed at the PTO meeting last week.

There was a stage full of ducks, sheep and bunnies.

You could see our bunny easy.
He was about a head taller than most of the
Easter animals.

We were so proud of our "big little man"!
He sang out strong and proud.
In fact....I was so impressed with all the kids.
They all sang and it was in tune and just
plain ole sounded good.
They sang several of the regular Easter songs
and ended with
"You Are my Sunshine"
the song I sang to his Daddy
and his Aunt and Uncle
and to them!

Sure enough........as my Grandchildren seem to do to me regularly..
I had to pretend like I had something in my eye!

Love my Grand babies
and
We were so proud of
JOHN BRADY

Somebody please pull those teeth!

Godspeed Discovery

February 24th

Discovery finally launched
almost 4 months after we were sitting in a car at 5 AM
waiting for the launch

I really wanted to be there.
But....in the world of ordinary people...
life gets in the way and.....
I wouldn't change my life.

As the time approached for the launch that afternoon
I got John to show me the direction of the launch.
I got a chair and sat in the yard and watched the sky.
I know.........
you are chuckling to yourself.
That's okay....I do a lot of things that make people laugh!
John was watching the launch in the kitchen.
He stuck his head out the back door and said it had launched.
In a few minutes a plume of smoke appeared in the sky....
I have no idea what it was.
It could have been an airplane but.....
it didn't look like an airplane plume of smoke.
When an airplane flies over, out here where we have wide open spaces of sky,
you can usually make out the plane and the plume of smoke is a tight trail.
This was a wide fluffy trail that just abruptly ended and there
wasn't anything visible to go with it.

Now.....I am sure that there are people out there who will look at
this picture and know immediately what it is.
But this ole girl.....who wanted to be at The Kennedy Space Center
to see Discovery launch for the last time.....
has decided to say that this plume of smoke
came from Discovery!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Discovery landed safely back home for the last time.
WELCOME HOME DISCOVERY

"And Houston, Discovery. for the last time,
wheelstop,"
Commander Lindsey said when the
orbiter stopped on the runway.

I am making plans for a trip to the Smithsonian
to see the Discovery.

So many mud puddles
and
so little time!

I Agree

SOUND OFF

The following statement was in The Tuscaloosa News Sound Off.

I liked it!

If the tree at Auburn dies because of the man poisoning it,
I think he should have to dig up the stump with a
soup spoon. I am an Alabama fan and I think it is terrible and
he should have to pay the consequences.

Just Plain Ole......

Ooey Gooey Cute

We stopped at the home of friends the other
day to let Lawson see their 2 month old
Brittany Spaniel puppies.
He loved it and the puppies did too!
He sat down and they climbed all over him while Lawson
laughed. He finally got up when they started trying to nip his ear.

Eight Is Enough

February Book Club Selection

This is a very easy read. Of course, this is the first book I read on my Kindle

that my children bought me for Christmas so.....

it really was easy to read!

This book will make you think....a lot.

It is about a little boy that has never been out of the room

he lives in. It is told from his view.

If I tell much more it will give away parts of the book.

I have thought about it everyday since I read it.
