Christmas Eve with MeMe and Pops

Our family meets every Christmas Eve to spend the day together and enjoy Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday. We snack all day while everybody helps cook supper and plays with the kids. I hope my Grandchildren have wonderful memories from our Christmas.....I do!

Courtney found this little Santa Christmas Dress in my closet. Somebody handed it down to me when she was a baby so.....she put it on Lily long enough to get a picture.

Brady beginning the cooking

Josh thinks something is funny while helping the girls make rice krispy Santa treats but.....Abby doesn't look like she thinks it is so funny!

Lawson came running in......after riding on the zip line....and said he was going to get some gloves for his hands. This is what he came up with.....a baby bath mitt and a garden glove!

John Brady and Lawson came up with a routine for getting more rides on the zip line. Each time you get in the harness you get 3 rides. They put a rope on the line so the one not riding could pull the rider back to the landing to start their ride again. Smart boys

Looks like Lily thinks she got caught!

The reason I have a hard time finding pictures of Kim.....she is always behind the lens! So.....I decided to just take a picture of her taking pictures!

The Zip Line Surprise

Emma
Every year John and I try to have a surprise for our Grandchildren. Many times it will be something that stays at our house. We decided that this year it was going to be a zip line. Of course, this takes a lot of work to put up right so.....it had to be already up by the day we had Granny Lawson's Christmas. We did not know we were going to have Granny's get together when we purchased the zip line but.....it turned out to be great fun for all the kids. We told Emma, Abby, JB3 and Lawson....Lily didn't seem too concerned....that their Christmas Eve surprise would be ready and apparent when they came for Granny Lawson's Christmas at our house.
Talk about a hit. I wish I had kept up with how many rides happened that day!

The Saturday before Christmas

The extended Lawson Family......Granny Lawson's Family meet the Saturday before Christmas every year. We have met at John's brothers house in Priceville for the past two years so we thought they needed a break so John and I volunteered to have it in Berry. I really hate to use the word "extended" family because this is a really close family and it seems more like it should be immediate family!
Lots of pictures.....sorry

Downtown Berry

Mayor Dobbs started a downtown revitalization before he left office. I think it is beautiful and it makes me smile every time I ride through town. We also got new Christmas decorations.

Berry Baptist always does their share to make the town look good!

Happy Birthday, Brady!

Happy Birthday, Son! I hope it is a great day.......it was 38 years ago!

Brady's 1st Birthday

I know......we would be arrested today but there was a day when "strapped in" was not required. We did strap our kids in (when most didn't) for trips to Birmingham but around Berry this is where Brady could always be found......right behind his Daddy's shoulder with a hand on his shoulder!
Look at that shirt......what goes around.....comes around!
This is what was going on in the great room of our home every night....."wrastling". Brady loved to get in the floor and wrestle with his Daddy......Courtney joined in sometimes and Josh joined in when he got older.
And here he is....last year....with his family

I found this card that Courtney gave Brady.......many years ago
