Sherry Grey, a dear friend and next door neighbor for 14 years, invited my Granddaughters to join her Granddaughter, Anna, for an afternoon of white gloves and manners. Also invited were Zoe Mauldin and Iannah Fields. These young ladies' parents all grew up together. The girls spent 2 1/2 hours learning how to set a table and using table manners. They also helped Sherry fix the dinner for that night. Pictured above from left to right- Zoe - daughter of Mandie Clark Mauldin, Anna - daughter of Chelle Grey Godbehere, Emma - daughter of Kim Knight Lawson, Iannah Fields - daughter of Tracy Clark Fields, and Abby Claire Lawson - daughter of Kim Knight Lawson. All of these mothers graduated from Berry High School. Daddies Brady Lawson and Chris Fields were also BHS graduates.

The Grandmothers were invited to come later that afternoon to join the girls for a meal. The girls wore play clothes for the first part of the day and then helped each other get dressed up for dinner. The girls greeted us at the door, showed us to our seat in the living room, explained the appetizers and how they made them, carried on small talk while we ate our appetizers and then showed us where to sit at the dining table for our meal. I don't have a picture of Linda with her Granddaughters because I made their picture with Linda's camera. Maybe she will e-mail it to me.
Sherry made the girls special napkins monogrammed with their name to remember the day.
Emma is holding the clip board that Sherry gave the girls. It has cute little rhymes to help the girls remember their table manners.
Hey, I think I will try to remember this rhyme since the older I get the more I forget!

It was the kind of afternoon that every MeMe dreams of when she holds her Granddaughter for the first time!

What a wonderful and special day.I LOVE Ms Grey!! Maybe she can starting teaching a liitle class from home to teach all the little ladies Manners and Politeness. How special I know they all loved it! How PROUD you mothers and grandmothers must be.
How precious!
I'm sure with boys, manners at the table would include not to burp or smack or scratch!ha
