Enjoying our last day

Back to Gardiner
Since we could not travel the complete Going-To-the -Sun-Road in Glacier Park we ended up with an extra day. We debated going back to Lake McDonald Lodge to enjoy the peace and quiet but really.....we just aren't solitude kind of people.
So we got up early and headed back to Gardiner for one last day inside Yellowstone.

On the way back to Gardiner we saw these long horn sheep. we also saw some antelope but for some reason I don't have any pictures

Lunch in Gardiner

the Old Gardiner Road

There is a dirt road behind the Mammoth Lodge in Yellowstone. This is the Old Gardiner Road. It is in very good shape and cars are allowed on it. It is one way to Gardiner. We decided after seeing many cars go up the hill to give it a try.

Lamar Valley
We rode to Lamar Valley in hopes of seeing a wolf pack.......we did not see one. We did see a wolf pack our first trip. If we come back.....seeing a wolf pack will be on our short list.
Here is what we did see.....

We counted 45 cows with this bull!

We ended up back in Mammoth Hot Springs. We ate a wonderful meal at the lodge
and as we were leaving........we got to see a pair of bull Elk fighting....Wow!
